Contacted Skytech to help with discerning an issue with my computer that wouldn't boot past POST, with the motherboard blaming the graphics. He called, asked what I needed done, I sent the PC over and he looked at it and found it was actually the motherboard itself going off. He offered to replace it, and it was sent back to me in working condition again, which has me very happy.

One thing to note, my service all together was $450, which is actually pretty steep for such a thing (I had a different service here build a whole computer together for me for only $100), and the motherboard itself isn't really worth more than $150, tops. A hefty price tag for something that barely took a whole week to get the part and install it, but that's the price I paid for convenience of having it done since I couldn't take the time to work it out myself. As such, I removed a star for cost.

Still, Skytech is professional and responsive, and it only took a few days for me to get my computer back. All in all, grateful he was able to take my PC in, fix it, and have me pick it up.

We had some lasting connectivity issues, especially between the main building and a dormitory, which houses many of our students. Eric answered our request within the hour and once onsite was able to diagnose and resolve problems that were impacting both students and faculty.

One of the biggest issues was a faulty wire running from the main switch to the Gilman building. Lines 7 and 8 were compromised because of a bend near the dorm entrance from an adjacent hallway. Eric found the distance where the wire faulted, repaired the wire, and once the line passed all tests, it restored a proper connection to the Gilman building. Eric also helped diagnose and address issues with several Uninterruptible Power Supplies, though this issue was unable to be resolved on-site, he provided an adequate explanation for me to make the repairs myself once the part was ordered. Before his work, the dorm’s Wi-Fi was struggling to deliver just 20 to 30Mbps to the students—completely inadequate for their needs. After Eric’s fixes, Wi-Fi speeds jumped to a solid 250Mbps, giving the students the reliable connectivity they deserved.

Eric managed to resolve all these issues in just two visits, despite the complexity of the school’s network, which spans three buildings and supports over 200 students and faculty. We at Putnam Science Academy greatly appreciate his assistance and would recommend his work for all things networking.

If you're looking for an expert who will go out of his way to find a solution for your technology needs, Eric is your guy. An individual with his level of expertise and customer service abilities is a rare find these days, and you can trust that your issue is in excellent hands. He was professional, courteous, willing to work with my schedule, and most importantly, he was able to pinpoint the problem and tackle it as quickly as possible.

My specific issue was a hard drive failure, which was extremely problematic because it contained my digital life from the past decade or so. On the spur of the moment I had decided that I wanted my late father's laptop repaired. I had replaced the keyboard on the machine, but upon reassembly I could not get it to boot. At this point, after about 3 year, I had pretty much figured I was not going to diagnose and repair the laptop by myself.

Eric from Skytech Solutions helped me out with my network. I was having all kinds of connection issues. My net work is for home and business so it is somewhat complex with various routers, security cameras, credit card machines etc. The first company I contacted came out to the house and got everything back up and running. it was good for a few days before I started having issues again. I then contacted Eric. He responded quickly and was able to troubleshoot things remotely, then he came to house to further survey the network and propose some new equipment. He ordered the equipment and came back to install everything, He reconfigured the network, and so far everything is working great!
Eric was prompt in coming out to the house and his pricing is very reasonable. I would recommend his services and plan on using him as my go to guy for network and tech advice.

Eric is amazing! I had an IP camera that I needed set up and was feeling totally overwhelmed trying to figure out the setup myself. I connected with Eric and he was super responsive and assured me he could get the job done. He took his own time to research my camera and then wrote me an email outlining his thoughts which included where we might run into some issues and possible solutions. He communicated a deep understanding of the technology which immediately put me at ease. He knows his stuff and he’s *not* going to waste your time. That’s a big deal to me!

I had a lot going on and didn’t get back to him for a couple of days but he made himself available to help me at the last minute. From my audio not working at the beginning of our call, to letting me know next steps we could take to customize the camera further (if needed), nothing ever had him scratching his head, unsure of what to do next—he had a solution for everything. If one thing didn’t work, he was into the next in half a second! As someone who is not tech savvy, that really put me at ease. He was super transparent when it came time to settle up and made sure we agreed on the time the job started and ended. All that to say, he’s also just a nice guy, not intimidating, and easy to work with. All important things when non-tech ppl are stressed and overwhelmed. I HIGHLY recommend Eric at Skytech!

I was told my SSD was failing and was led to believe major hardware repairs were needed. Based on that diagnosis, I was quoted roughly $1,200 in repairs.

After continuing to troubleshoot on my own, I was able to get the system working again by reinstalling Windows myself. The SSD that was supposedly failing is currently reporting healthy status and functioning normally.

I paid $150 for a diagnosis that appears to have been incorrect and nearly spent over $1,000 on repairs that did not end up being necessary. I would recommend getting a second opinion before authorizing any major work.

When it came down to day 4 he was going to come fix it or take it and fix it. Blamed my hardware and the fiber router. He did not seem to understand the problem's. When he left, with the problem unresolved, I moved a few cables around and found a solution. A complete waste of time and money.

By completing the job as it is originally quoted rather than changing extra money to finish careless work. My new computer should have had the features of the old desktop-windows 10, Microsoft suite, all my old files-but you wanted an additional $150to complete the original repair and you wanted to sell a key when I already had one on the other computer. You took another $100 from me to finish the job you started. That was completely unethical. I wouldn’t recommend you to anyone.

Skytech LLC: hello Gina, originally you wanted me to get your quickbooks working, this was due to your computer having issues that I fixed, you had Windows 8 (which doesnt transfer to a Win10 key setup) and were concerned about security due to Microsoft not supporting Windows 8. I charged only $100 dollars when you wanted Windows 10 put on the PC, also, this job was done on Feb 23rd, April 13th, and April 25th, I spent many hours on your PC and still only charged a very minimum amount for the time spent on your project. Im sorry you feel that a Windows 10 key that I paid $100 dollars for was not given to you for free. I wish you called me before this rating and told me how you felt before hurting my business, I agree with you that I was not ethical in my business with you, I strayed from the proper rules of conduct by giving you free hours while working on your PC, and giving you a free Win 10 license key, meaning I went above and beyond the usual business conduct.
